Las
Vegas resident, founder of the Supermodified Racing League and versed
Indy Racing League driver, Davey Hamilton, experienced engine trouble
during the last practice session of the afternoon, qualified with a
broken crankshaft and was forced to bow out of the main event.
"We had some internal problems with the engine during the last
practice session and qualified with a broken crankshaft and
lifters," said Hamilton. "It was just too much and we
couldnt compete in the main. Sometimes thats just the way it
goes."
Troy Regier and Joe Gosek finished one-two, with Eric Silsby taking
third.
Outlaw Stocks, Legends, and Bandoleros also thrilled fans with
short-track racing action. Due to time constraints caused by several
mishaps on the track, Bandoleros never took the green and the feature
was cancelled.
Driving skills of Hitchin Post/ Exiss Legends Car drivers T.J.
Clark and Kyle Busch had fans standing in anticipation, racing to the
wire. A clean race to the finish, T.J. edged out Kyle by a mere
two-hundredths of a second.
Final results on the Outlaw Stock feature will be released Monday and
are pending tech inspection.
